The Year of the Lost and Found
2011 was one heck of a year. This year, I was on a mission: to find myself…again. For some reason, I always felt lost. I constantly questioned what my purpose was and why I was doing the things I was. I was so caught up with working, going to school, doing extracurricular activities, and paying the bills that I forgot to have fun until the last few weeks of the year. I did not take enough...
Out of the Ordinary Christmas
For the past few years, the holiday season hasn’t been as happy for me and my family, but this year the Christmas kick off with my Dad’s side of the family was actually merry and joyful! After going last minute Christmas shopping, my sister and I headed over the my Dad’s house, and I went straight for the food (SUPER hungry). It was fun hanging out with my cousins, who I have not...
On My MySpace "About Me"
Dear twenty eight year old Ingrid,
I hope that by now you have graduated out of San Jose State as an interior design major (okay maybe a public relation major or hospitality management…just hope you figured out something by now!) and become successful, and all problems that you encountered 10 yrs. ago is forever gone.By this time, you should be getting ready to marry the man of your dreams,...
To Be There for You
After hearing today’s news, I realized the importance of truly being there for someone and how it really does make a big difference. Who knows when they are going to be gone? Or how will I ever know how that person is feeling if I don’t keep in contact with them? What if he or she ends up taking their own life? I used to think that everything will be okay and that things are happen because that’s...

Thankful for You
As I sit here and reflect about what I am thankful for, I realize that I am not thankful for WHAT material things I have, but those WHO are present in my life. Thank you to everyone who has been there for me through the good and the bad times. Thank you for believing in me when I did not think I could get through it. For those who have made an impact in my life, thank you for always inspiring me...
Reflection of College
This week, I registered for my last semester at SJSU, and I am super excited. Prior to having a conversation with a friend the other day, I did not really think about how much I would miss college once I graduate. I believe it when people say that college is the best years of a person’s life. Starting off as a freshman, I have met so many people who I can call my lifelong friends, and have...
3 Days of Relaxation
These past three days have been a very relaxing 3 days:
Lots of food: pho, korean food, home cooked food, million calories of dessert, and yummy pecan pie! :) Boiling crab tomorrow?!
Lots of movie watching at home: Bridesmaid, Freedom Writers, Selena, Why Did I Get Married Too? Bridesmaid again.
Lots of sleep and more time on the couch: LOVE IT
Lack of homework time though. Must get on that...

Must Stay Focused
I don’t know what it is, but it’s a challenge staying motivated in my classes. Took a midterm today and did not do so well. Then got a paper back. Again, did not do so well. Everything else seems fine. I don’t know what it is. It could be the change of weather, senioritis, how I cannot resist sitting on my new comfy chair in the living room, or maybe it’s the overload of...

College: The Best Years
I was at work, and one of the counselors talked to me about how her and her girlfriends come together and reminisce about the college years—she’s about 40 years old now probably. After telling me that these were the BEST and GREATEST years of her life, I started to ask myself: so what happens after college?! It made me think about how the life I am living now is not going to be same...
Just remember: RAWR
I was looking through my ATOD hutch last week, and this letter popped out of nowhere! Reading this was something I really needed to re-inspire me to get my last fall semester at SJSU started.
Fall Semester 2010
Dear Ingrid,
At this point in your life you have accomplished so much. Who knew that you would be sitting in the ocho-ocho living room writing this letter to yourself (OMG, this is due...
